Patrick MacGrath is enthusiastic about helping families make informed financial decisions that align with what matters most to them. He is especially dedicated to serving the special needs community, where thoughtful financial planning must work in harmony with specialized planning strategies to help preserve important government benefits and resources for individuals with special needs and the families who support them.
Patrick attended Ohio University in the early 1990s and earned both the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®) designations. He is also a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners, a nationwide network of highly experienced financial advisors and attorneys who collaborate to ensure families receive the most appropriate and comprehensive planning guidance possible.
Patrick began his financial services career in 2002 in San Francisco, California, where he worked alongside a mentor who introduced him to the industry and helped shape his approach to becoming a trusted advisor. In 2009, his family relocated to Green Bay, where he later founded MacGrath & Associates before partnering with Private Wealth Management Group. In early 2025, Patrick partnered with TMS Financial as an independent Wealth Advisor to continue expanding his work with families across the country in both traditional wealth management and specialized special needs planning.
Since joining TMS, Patrick has focused on helping clients manage and navigate their wealth planning needs while also focusing on Special Needs Planning. Through the resources and outreach capabilities of TMS Financial, he is committed to providing families with personalized guidance, education, and long-term planning support.
Outside of work, Patrick treasures time with his wife, Kirsten, and their children, Malcolm, Owen, and Norah. He and his family stay active attending their children’s activities, from football fields and performing arts stages to volleyball courts. Patrick also enjoys golfing, hiking, and planning the family’s next adventure.
